Acceptance of terms
These Terms of Service govern your use of Talk at talk.uk.com (the “Service”). By accessing or using the Service you agree to these terms and to our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, please do not use the Service.
The service
Talk turns YouTube videos into guided speaking and listening practice — looping lines, letting you save words, and tracking your progress. We may add, change, or remove features at any time to improve the Service.
Accounts & sign-in
You sign in with Google. You are responsible for the activity on your account and for keeping your Google credentials secure. You must be at least 13 years old (or the minimum age of digital consent in your country) to use Talk.
The words and progress you create are stored in your own Google account. You are responsible for that content and for maintaining your own copies if you wish.
Acceptable use
When using Talk, you agree not to:
- Break the law or infringe anyone's rights.
- Attempt to disrupt, reverse-engineer, overload, or gain unauthorised access to the Service or its systems.
- Use the Service to scrape, redistribute, or download video content in violation of the rights of others or of YouTube's terms.
- Misuse automated means to access the Service beyond ordinary personal use.
Third-party content (YouTube)
Talk plays videos through YouTube’s embedded player. That content belongs to its respective owners, and your use of it is also governed by the YouTube Terms of Service. Talk is not affiliated with or endorsed by YouTube or Google.
Intellectual property
The Talk name, design, and software are owned by us and protected by applicable laws. These terms do not grant you any right to our trademarks or branding. Your own saved content remains yours.
Disclaimer
The Service is provided “as is” and “as available”, without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied. We do not guarantee that the Service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or that it will meet a specific learning outcome.
Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, Talk will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages, or for any loss of data or profits, arising from your use of (or inability to use) the Service.
Termination
You may stop using Talk at any time and revoke its access from your Google Account permissions. We may suspend or end access to the Service if these terms are breached or to protect the Service and its users.
Changes to these terms
We may update these terms from time to time. Continued use of the Service after changes take effect means you accept the updated terms. The “last updated” date above always reflects the current version.
Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales, and the courts of England and Wales will have exclusive jurisdiction over any dispute, without affecting any mandatory consumer rights in your country of residence.
